Dating in the neighborhood...

.....is never a good idea!! Why is it that some guys (that you may not be feeling) want PDA (public display of affection) right away even if you haven't reached that point. So I was with my friend who was visiting me from California and we were at a having drinks at a local restaurant and this guy...let's call him BIG BOY hit on me. He happens to be about 6'0" and 270 pounds....my motto is I can't deal with any guy who has more belly than I do...but I thought I could make an exception since he is good looking, employed, owns his own home, working on a Masters and PhD. Initially, I was very busy but eventually decided to see what he had to offer. He was a perfect gentleman...paying for meals (yeah these guys actually exist!!)...opening doors..helping me with my coat....you know the whole courting routine. It was wonderful until....I realized that he was a little bit to focused on himself...as an only child he was used to getting his way....a little too controlling...also he would sometimes talk to me like I was a child....and the other major issue was that he didn't like to check his messages. So, you couldn't leave a message on his home OR cell phone (now the cell is a bit of a mystery because don't you have to have like a zillion messages before that happens). I thought I could deal with this but I couldn't. I figured maybe things would improve but it didn't. So, I was on one of my usual jaunts to LA and he offered to drop me off and pick me up from the airport in my car (I have already rec'd an earful on this matter)....but for those of you who don't live in NY...you have to understand it's about convenience and cost cutting measures (plus I know where he lives and where he works) Anyway, he dropped me off...gave me cash for the weekend...I was a HAPPY camper. Then I was returning Sunday night at 12:15am.....and this negro (Sorry I had to get a little ethnic here) showed up at 1:15am....talking about there was traffic. I was livid!!! Then he had the nerve to tell me that he was taking off on Monday and I should play hooky from work as well....I couldn't believe it! But, at least he hadn't used the car (I checked the mileage) and he filled up the tank (you KNOW how expensive gas is). Well, needless to say at that point I should have said adios amigo...but did I....of course not. Because a few days later my laptop CRASHED and he's the closest person in my neighborhood with a tech background. So I summoned his help....and boy did he become my knight in shining armor. He couldn't fix it so he took it to the experts and $200 later I'm back in business. But of course, last week when I went to pick up the laptop with him...he wanted to hold my arm...and show some more PDA and I basically said "DOWN BOY" especially after having a day from hell at work. Sometimes, guys just don't GET IT!! Needless to say...I think he's fired...I might have to borrow Donald Trump's line.

Until the next time......

P.S. Last night I was leaving a restaurant in the neighborhood, after having dinner with the love of my life (more on that another time) and I saw Big Boy at the bar cozying up next to some less than desirable woman (to put it nicely) Not sure if he saw me but who cares...............

It's been a while....

So.....I realize it's been awhile since I posted anything and I wondered if I could just outsource to someone so that it gets done on a weekly basis.

My friends have been harrassing me so I'm going to try to write several posts to make up for lost time!

So a few weeks ago I was heading out to visit my family in LA and I was flying out of Newark, which is a real pain coming from Brooklyn. I got to the airport....it was raining...I was annoyed...and VERY early. Anyway, this nice African guy helped me with my rollerboard (small carry on suitcase for the uninitiated) up the steps and then we got on the same AirTrain to get to the terminals. He actually tried to convince me to go and hang out with him in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT terminal to wait for his flight since I was early for mine....a bit ludicrous!! Anyway, I said no (I really wanted to laugh in his face) and I was nice enough to give him my cell number. He called (the same day) but I never got around to calling him back. Sometimes it's just good to know that you still have "IT" (Whatever that might mean to you) even if you're not some teeny bopper or young 20 something.....hehe

So....until the next time....
